Well, we're a couple of days late celebrating National Snack Day, which you likely celebrated anyway, I know I did.

According to Pioneer Woman, a market research research company released a map that reveals the most popular snack state-by-state. The data that was used appears to simply be the most searched snack.

I found the results to be, well, kind of boring. I only say that because there only appears to be six total snacks that made the cut throughout the nation. We are the United States of America, and it's no surprise to anyone that we love our snacks, and a large variety of them.

According to the data, wait for it....snap, crackle, pop... Rice Krispies Treats are the #1 snack in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Vermont, along 14 other states.

I'm down for a Rise Krispies Treat. I would imagine that the majority of snackers are. But to have them dominating New England along with a good chunk of the rest of the country was a bit surprising to me.

Following in second place, being the favorite in 16 states, were Doritos. I wasn't as surprised by this, as the sometimes-addicting bag of chips has several varieties, and you often find yourself digging through the crumbs at the bottom of the bag way sooner than you would like. Cheetos, Lay's Potato Chips, Fritos, and Chex Mix finished off the list.

Are you picking up the same thing as I am? If this data is accurate, Frito-Lay has a damn near monopoly on the most beloved snacks here in the US.

Here is the map that breaks down favorite snacks, state-by-state.
