Two Portland, Maine, Restaurants Make Open Table’s Top 100 for 2024

As the end of 2024 approaches, several national publications are celebrating the year by releasing lists featuring the best of the best. That includes Open Table, a popular reservation-making website that has become synonymous with the restaurant industry.

Open Table's Best Restaurants in America for 2024 is made up of the top 100 spots in the country based on a few factors. The heaviest weighted factors included how many positive reviews a restaurant received in the last year as well as how 'in-demand' the eatery was based on reservations.

Two Restaurants in Portland, Maine, Featured in Open Table's Top 100

Unsurprisingly to those that enjoy the culinary scene in Maine, a pair of Portland restaurants received high marks in the key categories.

The first of those restaurants is Scales. Inside of Scales, it does feel like a major Boston or New York City restaurant that has been plopped down in the middle of Portland's Old Port. High-end seafood dishes are the name of the game at the restaurant which led it to be named the 'most-booked' eatery in the state.

Open Table's list also includes Fore Street. Fore Street has remained one of Portland's most luxurious and upscale dining experiences for the last two-and-a-half decades. The secret sauce in their wood-burning oven that makes the restaurant smell warm and inviting and every dish that passes through it taste better. It was deemed the 'must-try' restaurant when visiting Portland.

7 Other Restaurants in New England Also Make Open Table's List

Maine wasn't the only state in New England to have some entries on the Open Table Top 100 list. According to Boston.com, six Massachusetts restaurants made their way into the top 100. There was also one restaurant from Rhode island featured.

New Hampshire and Vermont were shut out of the Top 100 for 2024.
