Joe Keery, who plays Steve Harrington on "Stranger Things," was born in Newburyport, Massachusetts, according to Wicked Local.

Boston.com reported that the actor and musician began his acting career at the performing arts program Theater in the Open at Maudslay State Park in Newburyport.

In addition to "Stranger Things," Keery has starred in the Ryan Reynolds' movie "Free Guy" as well as the TV series "Fargo."

He was recently spotted in his hometown at a local coffee shop, according to Mass Live, graciously taking a picture with some of the staff during his visit. Sometimes you just need a coffee break after fighting some demogorgans, right?

David Harbour, who plays police chief Jim Hopper on "Stranger Things," graduated from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, in 1997, according to Valley News.

But that's not where his New England ties end. Q97.9 noted that his time at the Theater in Monmouth, Maine, was "the happiest he'd ever been." He visited Maine in 2023 for a special Q&A event in Monmouth.

Harbour has also starred in movies like "Hellboy" and Marvel's "Thunderbolts."

During his 2023 stop in Maine, he visited A1 Diner in Gardiner and even took a photo while he was there.

Rounding out the New England trio is Gaten Matarazzo, who plays Dustin Henderson on "Stranger Things."

According to CT Insider, the young actor was born in New London, Connecticut, in 2002 and lived in Mystic for two months before moving to New Jersey.

Short-lived New England stay, right?

Yes, technically, but CT Insider reported that Matarazzo would return to Connecticut on multiple instances from participating in the Starpower Talent Competition Nationals at Mohegan Sun, as well as being a part of the touring company of "Les Miserables" and performing in New Haven in 2013.

He's also starred in "The Angry Birds Movie 2" and "Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy."
