Look Out for Barrington Resident in New HBO Max Series 'Julia'

Remember the 2009 movie "Julie & Julia" starring Amy Adams and the one and only Meryl Streep? I absolutely loved it! Meryl played a heck of a Julia, but then again, she can do no wrong in my book.

On March 31st, HBO Max released the first three episodes of their original dramatic series "Julia". The series explores the life and rise of this chef turned icon.

HBO Max has been crushing it when it comes to content. Some of my favorite shows live on this platform including The Righteous Gemstones, The Sex Life of College Girls (created by Mindy Kaling). and of course, we love to hate it but can't get enough of the Sex and the City spinoff "And Just Like That". At least that show gave a Maine-based beverage company some well-deserved air time.

But back to "Julia"...

Resha Meylan from Barrington, NH, was an extra on the series, and said filming was one of the top three best experiences in her entire life. I am not allowed to post any photos of her in full hair and makeup, which is a shame because she looked like a 1950's bombshell.

Here's what she did tell me:

The days were long (like 13 hours long), but she reveled in every minute.
Catering was where it's at. If there was a snack you were craving, chances are you could enjoy it in mass quantities when you were off screen. Also, apparently there is unlimited espresso on set. She had 13 shots in one day (I'm sorry, what?).
She got paid to cut her hair!
The hair stylist for this series also worked on "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel". If you watch that show, you know how ON POINT hair and makeup is.
The other extras were very kind and she made some lifelong friends (that will happen when you hang with someone for 13 hours straight).
They filmed all around the Boston area. Resha's scene was at the Fairmount Copley Plaza in Boston's Back Bay.

Resha doesn't know if the scenes she filmed will be used in the series. But hey, that's show business! Guess we will just have to watch and find out.

Each episode is named after a popular dish. The first is "Omelette", the second is "Coq Au Vin", and the third is "Beef Bourguignon". They all sound delicious. We must wait until April 7th for the next helping of episodes.
