Ossipee, New Hampshire, Mourns Loss of Retired Officer K-9 Zeus
K-9 Officers play an incredibly important role in keep out communities safe! They can use their heightened senses to chase down criminals or bust drug dealers. Some departments use their K-9s as therapy dogs to improve child welfare and mental health in the community. K-9s offer a multitude of benefits to any police force and some K-9s are formally sworn in as police officers. When a K-9 officer passes away the police department, especially their handler. feels like they lost a member of their family.
Unfortunately the Ossipee, NH Police Department just experienced a profound loss and took to their Facebook page to share the sad news.
Their beloved retired K-9 Officer Zeus has passed away.
Zeus was born February 28, 2011 and started his career with the Ossipee Police in March of 2012. He was partnered with now Chief Anthony Castaldo and served with him for 9 years.
Zeus served with loyalty and honor during his years with the Ossipee Police.
It is comforting to know that Zeus did not endure any pain or suffering when he passed. He will be deeply missed by the Ossipee Police Department Family and most of all by his partner Chief Castaldo.
