Holy smokes.

The 2023 Winter Classic at Fenway Park will forever be one of the greatest days to be a Boston Bruins fan.

I had been waiting for this game since the NHL announced the teams and locations for the highly anticipated Winter Classic event. I told myself and my wife that the second that tickets are on sale, we are buying them.

We were going, no matter the cost.

Although supportive, she did not fully understand.

The Bruins are my favorite team. This very well could be (don't want to say anything to jinx it) the last year of some of the veteran players playing together (Patrice Bergeron, David Krejci, David Pastrnak, Nick Foligno, etc.). They are on an unbelievable run this year, the #1 team in the NHL, and making another cup run.

Oh, and this is an outdoor game, the most classic version of pond hockey, in one of America's most beloved and historic ballparks: Fenway.

Anyway, there was no way I was missing this game, and Im' so happy I didn't. The day was a highlight reel gone way too fast. I feel like I blinked and it was over.

It started with an incredible tribute to the past. The Boston Bruins entered Fenway with some old school swag.

The puck drop ceremony included Boston Red Sox legends Tim Wakefield and Jason Varitek. It also had Bruins icons Zdeno Chara, Johnny Bucyk, and Bobby Orr. Needless to say, the crowd was into it.

It was a gorgeous 50 degree day filled with Boston sport legends; a memory in the making for the entire ballpark.

Fast forward to when the Bruins were down by a goal. Not once did Fenway stop chanting, cheering, and believing.

When Jake Debrusk notched the Bruins' first goal, making the game 1-1 in the third period, the place erupted.

The stadium was one giant speaker with extra base. Vibrating. You couldn't hear yourself think.

It only got sweeter from there. You know what happens next. Another Jake Debrusk goal, making the Bruins go ahead 2-1.

The group hugs were on.

After a day of free music, Boston sports legends, an incredibly packed Fenway Park, a  perfectly crafted set up and stadium, oh and a third period comeback win, the Winter  Classic was everything I was expecting and more. It was worth every penny.

Moral of my story? If you are ever thinking about missing out on that game, concert, or trip you think will be a great memory one day, don't.

Figure out a way to go. Trust your gut and get yourself there. You won't regret it.

Luke Bryan listed his 4,600-square-foot beach house for sale in December 2022. The stunning Florida mansion includes four bedrooms and bathrooms and comes furnished. The master bedroom overlooks 95 feet of water frontage, but if you don't want to descend all four floors to get there, you can absorb the warmth of the private, heated pool. This Santa Rosa Beach property is on sale for $18 million, among the most ever for a country star's house.
