Maine set two macabre records on Tuesday, topping daily highs in both new cases and new deaths. Maine CDC reported 255 new cases Tuesday and 12 deaths. Four of those deaths came in York County. Of those four, three were associated with long-term care facilities and two were attributed to Durgin Pines.

The state's previous daily high for reported deaths was four. That number tripled with Tuesday's report.

Durgin Pines had been associated with five known deaths at this time last week, to go along with over 60 cumulative cases at that time. Over that time, despite a worsening outbreak, the facility has continued to stay active on Facebook, posting photos of some residents who have defeated the virus.
