2 Charged With Racing at Nearly 130 MPH on NH’s I-93
Drivers sometimes compare the interstates to race tracks. Two drivers made it a reality on Saturday night when they hit triple digits while racing on Interstate 93 in Londonderry.
New Hampshire State Police said a trooper watched as Nickolas J. Quintal, 20, of Hooksett and Wyatt H. Adams, 18, of Derry, got onto I-93 south from Exit 5 and immediately began riding side-by-side, accelerated, and began to race. Quintal's 2018 Infiniti Q50 was clocked at 131 mph, while Adams hit 128 mph in the 2008 BMW Coupe he was driving.
Both drivers were charged with road racing, reckless operation, and negligent driving. Quintal also faces a charge of endangering the welfare of a child for having a teenage passenger under the age of 18.
The drivers were arrested and bailed to their own recognizance. They are due to appear before the Derry Circuit Court at a date to be announced.
