There will be free bicycle helmets made available to 100 children during a safety event being held in Dover.

Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, in partnership with the Dover Police Department, have planned for the event to take place on July 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The event will take place in Wentworth-Douglass’ Garrison Wing parking lot at 789 Central Avenue in Dover, NH.

There will be demonstrations, prizes, giveaways, visits from special guests and more.

Families are encouraged to have their children participate in a bicycle decorating contest by decorating their bikes prior to arrival and attending in matching costumes.

Helmets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Various sizes will be offered, and registration is not required. The helmets were made possible through the Safe and Active Community Grant administered by CHaD and Kohls Cares, according to a press release issued by Crystal Mockler at the hospital.
