Infant Death Under Investigation in Somersworth, NH

The death of an infant on Friday is under investigation by Somersworth police.

First responders and police were called to the Colonial Village Mobile Home Park around 8:40 a.m. on a report of a baby who was unconscious and not breathing. Efforts were made by first responders to revive the baby en route to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, where it was pronounced dead.

Police did not disclose if the child was in its own home or who called 911. No charges have been filed as of Saturday morning. The state Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine a cause of death.
