Jimmy's Jazz & Blues Club in downtown Portsmouth is opening in two weeks and the final, finishing touches are being shared on social media.

Michael and Peter Labrie are the owners of Jimmy's. They have set out to create one of the best jazz and blues club experiences in the Northeast, and possibly even the world.

Their fall schedule now includes 12 Grammy award winners as well as artists with over 100 Grammy award nominations amongst them.

According to the club's website, the opening performer on Sept. 30 is the Joey Defrancesco Trio. Tickets range in price from $35 to $75 and a calendar of events can be found on their website by clicking here.

The historic YMCA building on Congress Street which will be the home to the club has been undergoing construction for more than four years and will open on Sept. 30.

On Tuesday, photos of the rooms where people can relax, eat and listen to music were posted Facebook and there were over 700 reactions, 131 comments and 49 shares.

Seacoast Current took a tour of the club this summer and got enough photos for people to get a glimpse at some of the work that had been completed at that point.

Details include the restored windows with the YMCA logo, which can be seen above, exposed beams that withstood a devastating fire and wallpaper in the bathrooms which offers detail and contrast in the historic structure.
