The early ride home on the southbound Maine Turnpike was halted for an hour late Monday morning by a three-car crash.

The driver of a red Chevrolet SUV was allegedly weaving in and out of the lanes around 11:30 a.m. at a high rate of speed just south of the York toll plaza, witnesses told Maine State Police.  The SUV rear-ended a Volvo station wagon that then sideswiped a third vehicle before losing control and striking the median guardrail.

The occupants of the Volvo and the SUV were take to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said. The driver of the SUV was identified as Dwayne Page, 42, of Guilford, Connecticut. No changes have been filed.

Route 95 was closed for an hour, creating a multi-mile delay.
