Congdon’s is a beloved and family-operated doughnut shop in Wells, Maine. They adore the Wells community and will give back at any opportunity with charity events and even having given away toilet paper during the pandemic. Not to mention serving up their incredibly delicious handmade fresh doughnuts each and every day. They’ve been in the doughnut business since 1955 but ended up branching out to food trucks since food truck popularity began booming here in Maine. And no, I’m not talking about a Congdon’s Doughnuts food truck. Think bigger!
Congdon’s After Dark
Congdon’s After Dark is when Congdon’s opens up their parking lot and welcomes up to 10 different food trucks to park and serve up their goods. Each year they draw in tons of hungry folks looking for some variety in their dinner.
It’s perfect for when you’re not quite sure what to have for dinner. Maybe you’re in the mood for a burger, and maybe your significant other is in the mood for some fried seafood. This food truck park gives you so many options! Get the main dishes you like, maybe grab a side dish from another truck and dessert at another! It’s great for a date night or to appease all the different tastes in your friend group or family.
Opening Day for Congdon’s After Dark is scheduled for Thursday, May 26th. You can expect 5 to 10 trucks each night they’re open as well as a beer garden, live music, fundraisers every Tuesday with 10% of sales going to the charity of the day, car shows on Monday, entertainment for kids, and more!
Congdon’s After Dark will be open Thursday through Sunday, May 16th through June 19th, and then daily June 23rd through September 4th, then as the season winds down Friday through Sunday, September 9th through October 9th.
Seacoast Online reported that Congdon's has some incredible new trucks lined up for the season in addition to the old favorites. New trucks include, "The Gyro Stop (Greek food), Pam & Fam's Forkin Good Grub (comfort food), BBQ Betty's (barbeque), The Traveling Foodie (elevated comfort food), Maddie's Acai Bowls (smoothies/acai bowls), Outpost by Northern Union (global-inspired, local ingredients), Coppa Magica Gelato (gelato), and Hattapon's Thai Kitchen (Thai food)."
Additionally, Congdon's themselves will be opening their own pizza kitchen, Park Pizza.
