It's always exciting to hear about new restaurants opening up in the area, especially with the weather warming up and summer on its way.

As existing businesses continue to bounce back from the pandemic, many new ones are simultaneously being born.

Recent openings have included a specialty sandwich shop called Toast in Kittery, Maine, and a Portsmouth cafe called Stroll that additionally offers wine, beer, and specialty cocktails.

Joining the ranks now is The Hungry Lobster, located at 919 Washington Road in Rye, New Hampshire.

Most of us here on the Seacoast can't get enough of seafood, and lobster is an iconic favorite of both locals and tourists alike.

Since The Hungry Lobster just opened a couple of days ago on March 29, minimal information is currently available about the restaurant at the time of this writing. The business' Facebook page classifies it as a sandwich shop, with offerings including:

"Small batch take home meals, sandwiches, soups, baked goods, seafood, chicken, beef, vegetarian items. Year round location inspired by Rye Harbor Lobster Pound."

For those who don't know, Rye Harbor Lobster Pound is a family-owned local Rye business that serves delicious lobster rolls, bisque, chowder, and more according to their Facebook.

As for The Hungry Lobster, one thing's for sure: if these pictures are any reflection of the food they serve, your experience there is sure to be heavenly.

Heck, even if you don't typically like lobster (slowly raises hand), you have to admit that this looks beautiful.

The Hungry Lobster is currently open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 AM-2 PM. For more information, click here.
