NH Governor Signs Bill To Study Building Pier for Disabled at Hampton Beach
Gov. Chris Sununu signed a bill into law on Monday that will establish a legislative committee to study building a pier over the jetty at Hampton Beach State Park for disability access.
Senate Bill 100 is sponsored by State Sen. David Watters, D-Dover.
According to officials at the NH State Park system, expanding accessible opportunities at parks and historic sites is an evolving and ongoing project.
In 2017, five state beaches were equipped with floating wheelchairs. Hampton Beach was one of them.
There are wheelchairs available at the Hampton Beach First Aid room at the Seashell building daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Beach access mats can also be found at Hampton Beach.
