Police: Man Assaulted Hospital Security Officer in Rochester
A man allegedly assaulted a security officer at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester on Sunday, according to police.
Rochester police said they responded to the parking lot of the hospital where they allege Tyler Thurston, 29, of New Durham, struck and seriously injured a hospital security worker.
Police said the security officer was unresponsive and sustained serious injuries as a result of allegedly being punched in the face, after which police said the security officer fell to the pavement where his head struck the ground.
The security officer was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital, per police.
Thurston was arrested, charged with second-degree assault and transported to Strafford County Jail after being held on bail. Thurston was scheduled to be arraigned Monday at Strafford County Superior Court.
Police said the circumstances surrounding the incident were still under investigation on Monday.
