The Jenna M. Pellegrini Memorial Softball Tournament was held on Saturday and $4,500 was raised for charitable organizations on the Seacoast.

The tournament is held each August at the BYA Complex in Barrington. Pellegrini grew up playing softball on these fields and eventually was on Dover High School's team.

Pellegrini was 32 years old when she was killed on Jan. 27, 2017, in a grisly double murder in Farmington.

Her father, Michael Pellegrini, and others like to remember Jenna Pellegrini as a child playing on those fields.

Michael Pellegrini said there were not enough children this year interested in playing the annual game at noon between Team Jenna and Team Christine.

Team Christine is named for Christine Sullivan.

Pellegrini was staying with Sullivan, 48, at a house at 979 Meaderbroro Road in Farmington when she was stabbed to death.

Sullivan was also stabbed to death at the house she shared with boyfriend Dean Smoronk. Timothy Verrill, 38, is charged with the murders and is being held in jail.

Michael Pellegrini has contact with Jenna's two children, who were not with her at the time of the murders.

Michael Pellegrini said Jenna's two children are 9 and 12 years old now. They live in Conway, NH.

"I saw them three weeks ago. We talk with them from time to time," Michael Pellegrini said.

Michael Pellegrini said he spent a lot of time playing softball on Saturday with his team. It turned out to be a nice day for softball, he said.
