‘SNL”s Jay Pharoah Coming to Aura in Portland Saturday Night
Jay is one of the best impressionists in the country.
He can do over 200 impersonations! That's insane! He was on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and he was put to the test.
He spent seven seasons on Saturday Night Live from 2010 through 2016, and is probably most remembered for his spot-on impersonation of President Barack Obama.
There are a few tickets left to see Jay when he comes to Portland at Aura on Saturday, August 19.

Pharoah was born and raised in Chesapeake, Virginia. He started doing impersonations when he was only six, and says that Gilbert Gottfried's character Iago in Aladdin was his first. In Wikipedia, he's quoted as saying,
My father put me in a talent competition a couple of months later, and out of the whole thing I got fifth place.
One of Jay's characters is Principal Daniel Frye. Jay graduated from Indian River High School in Chesapeake, Virginia, in 2005. His principal was James Frye and yes, they are similar.
This is Jay's first time in Maine. He's been to the "other" Portland, but never the OG one. We spoke with Jay and mentioned that Maine is the number one producer of wild blueberries in the world. He had no idea. We love surprising new people with fun Maine facts.
This is going to be a great show in a great venue. Aura is just big enough and small enough to be the perfect setting for this show. Be sure to grab tickets before they sell out!
