A Somersworth man is facing up to seven years in prison after he allegedly choked a woman in Dover.

Prosecutors say Chance Wilson, 37, applied pressure to the 33-year-old woman's neck or throat, causing her to experience impeded blood circulation.

The incident allegedly happened on Nov. 17. Wilson was arrested by Dover police on Nov. 28.

Wilson is charged with second-degree assault, which is a Class B felony.

A grand jury at Strafford County Superior Court in Dover indicted Wilson on June 17. He can plead guilty or go to trial.
