The city of Lewiston, Maine, was forever changed by a horrific mass shooting on October 25, 2023, that claimed the lives of 18 people and wounded 13 others. We remember the victims.
"The President and First Lady will pay respects to the victims of this horrific attack and grieve with families and community members, as well as meet with first responders, nurses, and others on the front lines of the response," reads a statement from the White House.
Many of the families of the victims of the shootings at Just-in-Time Recreation and Schemengees Bar & Grille in Lewiston on Oct. 25 have announced their funeral arrangements.
Leaders from several faiths addressed the crowd inside and outside the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul during Sunday night's One Lewiston Community Vigil. Pictures of each victim were placed at the front of the church.
Dozens gathered at Kennedy Park in Lewiston and Lisbon Falls Park in neighboring Lisbon as the two communities begin to recover from the siege of terror and staying in their homes after the shootings.
There is no evidence yet that the shooting was premeditated, nor does anything specifically indicate why Robert Card went to the Just-in-Time Recreation and Schemengees Bar & Grille Wednesday night.
