The Puddle Dock Restaurant in Portsmouth, NH Celebrates Grand Opening
The Puddle Dock Restaurant overlooking Prescott Park in Portsmouth, NH celebrated its grand opening July 7.
From the downtown location, which is the former Mombo Restaurant, people will be able to watch the ice skaters at Strawbery Banke in the winter and observe the activities at the park in the summer.
During a ribbon-cutting event, Gov. Chris Sununu, Police Chief Mark Newport and Mayor Rick Becksted posed for photos with the owners.
"Folks are flocking to NH to explore our seacoast, and that's exactly what this new restaurant provides by incorporating both heritage & history to create a true experience. A beautiful must-visit!" Sununu said on social media.
On Friday morning, Becksted said he remembers when the building was a store where there was a barrel of pickles and all the fun candy parents did not want their children to eat.
Becksted said he thinks the restaurant, which leases land from Strawbery Banke, will offer a unique and charming atmosphere for diners.
"It's definitely going to be a welcome addition to the community," Becksted said.
The restaurant is listed on Facebook as a modern colonial menu with a twist. Eric Levi Levin of Seacoast Eats raved on Thursday about menu items he tried with his sister the day before.
The restaurant is located at 66 Marcy Street in Portsmouth.
