My go-to event on the weekends is a comedy club.  There's nothing like a good laugh to make you feel alive, and we all certainly need to laugh more after the past few years of Covid-19.

Would you like a good belly laugh, or a joke so funny you laugh out loud?  We all need more levity in our lives, and now that we are back to the new normal (thank goodness), we can get out and enjoy shows and l-a-u-g-h.  It's good for the soul.

Local comedian Erin Feeley has put together the first-ever Seacoast Comedy Festival, throughout the month of June in Dover, Portsmouth, and Newmarket.  According to her website, Feeley is "a New Hampshire-based comedian, producer, writer, illustrator, T1D & mom of 2".

One of the highlights of the festival is the Dover 400 Humdinger at the Woodman Museum on June 23.  It's being billed as "a once in 400 years comedy show", and for good reason.  Check out this lineup from 8pm -10pm. The show is 21+.

Frank Santorelli of The Sopranos, and Meet the Parents

Kathe Ferris from The Comedy Studio, and Amy Tee of Sirius XM. This show promises to be full of surprises and lots of laughs.

Also, on June 8 at The Chameleon Club at Cara's Irish Pub in Dover, there's a charity comedy night from 7pm-8:35 pm to benefit Dover Baseball, with Moccia Comedy Productions.

On Saturday, June 24 at 3pm, there's an afternoon show called POWERHOUSES at Embers, located at 1 Orchard St. in Dover.

Monday, June 26, it's Comedy Night at Fury's, located at 1 Washington Street in Dover, at 7pm.

Then on Saturday, July 1, at the Dover 400 Block Party, open mic begins at 1:30pm at the Waldron Courtyard.

The Portsmouth and Newmarket shows were earlier in June, but I'll bet there will be more comedy shows popping up soon in both places.

So get out and have a laugh with some of the funniest comedians in the area and from the big cities at the Seacoast Comedy Festival, now running through July 1.
