Chocolate. Deep, dark, rich, smooth, sweet, and tasty chocolate.

Salivating?

You might not be yet, but you could be this weekend on Saturday, July 27, at Waterville Valley Ski Resort. This weekend marks the 20th annual chocolate festival at the New Hampshire ski resort, according to their website.

But wait, there's more. When I heard there will also be live music, contests, beer sampling, and more, I knew this was a pretty sweet event.

"Enjoy an evening of chocolate temptations in Town Square accompanied by a free outdoor concert as the sun sets," according to the website. "Pack a picnic or just bring a bottle of your favorite red or white libation and enjoy an indulgent evening in the square, on a blanket, or with your toes in the sand!"

Did I read that right? Does that mean it is BYOB and I can eat chocolate while drinking wine outdoors and being entertained by free live music?

Yup. What says date night more than a glass of vino and some dark chocolate?

One really cool thing about Waterville Valley is that their entire town is an open container town, according to their website. "So you're welcome to responsibly enjoy an adult beverage (or two) during your spontaneous picnic...extensive beverage selection of Jugtown Country Store, offering old-fashioned sodas in addition to craft beer, seltzers, wine, and champagne... Or make Olde Waterville Pizza Company your 1-stop-shop for picnic accouterments, with both takeout pizza and to-go 6-packs of craft beer."

Indulge in this event for me. I am saddened I cannot go. I would love nothing more than to drink beer, listen to music, and snack on some chocolate in the White Mountains.

The specific timeline of the event is below.

6:00 - 9:00pm           Live Entertainment
6:00 - 7:00pm           ‘Name that Candy Bar’ Contest in Town Square
6:00 - 8:30pm           Chocolate Treats sold by the piece (cash only) (rain location under tent)
6:00-  8:30pm           Craft Beer Sampling- Hosted by Amoskeag Beverages: Woodstock Brewery Raspberry Good, Great North RVP, Stoney Creek Stoney Joe, Truly Black Cherry
