Maine Weather
Even though we're now somehow at the end of August although it feels like yesterday was Memorial Day Weekend, summer is still alive and well around Maine. Just ask the humidity we've had multiple times over the last few weeks. But the thing about Maine and New England weather, as we all know, is that it can turn on a dime. To the point that it could snow this weekend out of nowhere and then be 100 degrees for the entirety of the following week.
At least Mother Nature keeps us guessing and not every day is the same, right? (At least, that's what we tell ourselves to help stay sane through the wonky weather.)
Maine summer food
One of the biggest highlights of summer -- and not that we can't indulge throughout the rest of the year, but it just hits different during summer months -- is all the fantastic seafood. Calm cakes, chowdah, lobstah, and of course -- the epic Maine lobstah roll. The downside to summer winding down and coming to an end? All the pop-up seafood stands we look forward to opening every year being to close down.
And that's what must've been on Laura Bruns Rogers mind when she asked for some help in the Portland, Maine group on Facebook with ideas for lobster and lobster rolls hot spots in the Greater Portland area. And as always, without fail, Mainers responded with all the help in the world.
