Whether you like it or not, it is Halloween time, baby!
The temperatures are dipping low, the sun is setting early, the leaves are falling down, and pumpkin has made its way back to the menus.
With the fall season comes the horror. Spooky jack-o-lanterns scattered across the neighborhoods and scary decor around every corner are only the start. Vacant stores transform into Spirit Halloween and local attractions go out of their way to give you a fright.
Throughout New England, we have corn mazes, haunted hay rides, and haunted houses to get you in the spirit. While I personally go out of my way to avoid anything that’s even the slightest bit scary, we have plenty of options for those who like living on the edge.
You won’t find me dead or alive at any of these attractions but you should check them out yourself and I will live vicariously through you.
Whether you want to stay local here in Maine or you want to take the well-worth-it trip to New Hampshire for a spook, New England has award-winning haunted houses that will have you second-guessing if that chair of clothes in the corner of your room is actually clothes or an evil creature awaiting your demise.
Do you like being spooked? Do you feed off the adrenaline? Or do you just like getting in the Halloween spirit?
These are some haunted houses in Maine and New Hampshire that are sure to make the hair on your neck stand up. You may even wet yourself but maybe try not to do that.
