As a wise man once said: “Back to school, back to school, to prove to Dad that I’m not a fool.”

And it would appear (again, appear) according to one tweet (again, one tweet) that the New Hampshire native who played said man was touring the campus of a New England college not that far from Stan and Judy’s.

Manchester’s Adam Sandler was seemingly spotted touring Boston University this week, possibly with one of his children. And to check, let’s send out another tweet in the fall saying his daughter has converted to being a Red Sox fan, and see if he shows up and Waterboy-tackles everyone.

Though a New Yorker and New Hampshirite at heart, Sandler has spent a lot of time in Massachusetts the past few years filming Grown Ups Grown Ups 2, and the under-appreciated Netflix movie Hubie Halloween.

And in 2016, The Sandman played some pickup basketball with the Boston University men’s team, according to the Boston Herald. So, it’s gotta be true, right?

Well…you be the judge:

It sure looks like him. But I gotta say no. Simply based on the fact it was warmer than 10 degrees and the guy in the picture isn’t wearing gym shorts.

Though raised in Manchester, Sandler went to New York University and famously roots for the Yankees and Knicks (the former due to family allegiance; the latter, presumably, his sense of humor.)

Recently, Sandler made news after receiving the prestigious Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, making him the second New Englander honored with the award (after Andover’s Jay Leno.)
