It's been almost two weeks since the death of the beloved Betty White, and despite the fact that she was just a few weeks shy of being a centenarian, we still can't believe she's gone.
I, like so many others, was a big fan of hers. My fandom, however, didn't come from her roles on The Golden Girls, Hot in Cleveland or even The Mary Tyler Moore show. I was a fan of hers because of all the game shows she guest starred in. She appeared on over 33 different game shows, several of which were hosted by her husband Allen Ludden.
While browsing YouTube after Betty's death looking for clips of her on all these game shows, I came across an appearance of hers on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Fallon is also a fan of game shows, and had Betty on many times to play Password and Pyramid, two of the game shows she appeared on the most.
While watching a 2013 appearance by Betty to play Pyramid, I had to rewind the video to see if I heard her partner correctly. When playing Pyramid, celebrities are paired up with members of the audience. A man named Lars was chosen, who said he was from Wells, Maine. He didn't give his last name, however.
Lars and Betty didn't win and Jimmy got to gloat a little over that, but who cares? A guy from Maine got to play Pyramid with Betty White!
So does anyone know Lars from Wells, Maine? The show aired 9 years ago so he may not be in the area anymore, but to have played Pyramid with Betty White must have been amazing!
