Police are looking for the driver of a dark colored smaller SUV who struck a 68-year-old bicyclist in Wells early Saturday evening sending him to a hospital.

Allen Bigbee, 68, was found lying and alert along Old County Road near Spinnaker Ridge Drive just after 7 p.m., with bleeding lacerations to his head and elbow,  according to Wells police. He was taken by ambulance to Maine Medical Center in Portland for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Bigbee was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Police said they have items considered evidence left at the scene as a result of the crash.
