Rescue swimmers, off-duty lifeguards, and Hampton Fire Alarm helped rescue two swimmers caught in a rip current at Hampton Beach Saturday night.

Bystanders on the beach ran into the water in front of the Ashworth By The Sea Hotel to try and help the swimmers before help arrived, according to Hampton Fire/Rescue. Two individuals were rescued from the water and hospitalized. Their identities were not disclosed.

No warnings about rip currents were in effect at Hampton Beach Saturday.

InDepthNH.org reported that there were 207 ocean rescues by state beach patrol lifeguards so far in 2023.
