A three-month investigation led to three arrests and the removal of a "significant" amount of Fentanyl off the streets.

Lance Belanger, 43, of Hampton, Angela Demarcom, 39, of Hampton, and Meagan Shaw, 39, of Northwood were arrested at a house on Epping Avenue on Jan. 27th and charged with sales and possession charges and other narcotics-related offenses, according to High Sheriff Charles Massahos.

They were released on bail from Hampton police headquarters and in accordance with the New Hampshire Bail reform statute.

Massahos did not disclose what triggered the investigation, or the exact amount of Fentanyl seized.

The arrests were part of the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force in conjunction with the Hampton Police Department as a part of Operation Granite Shield.

Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid typically used to treat patients with chronic severe pain or severe pain following surgery, according to the FDA. Illegal Fentanyl is often mixed in with other drugs to increase its potency, often with deadly results.
