An all-star baseball team from Dover will represent New England at the Cal Ripken 10U World Series in Florida and they are raising money to get there.

The tournament is in Palm Beach Gardens and begins on Thursday, so time is limited.

A verified GoFundMe page has been started and as of Friday at 11:30 a.m., half of the team's $40,000 goal had been reached. There was $20,438 raised through the site.

The money will help the team offset the costs of airfare, lodging and transportation.

"These boys have played together for many years. They are a group of kind, funny, and hard-working young men who have accomplished so much at 10 and 11 years old," is posted the GoFundMe page.

The team earned the opportunity to participate in the tournament when they defeated the team from Fall River, Mass., on July 23.
