Fire Heavily Damages Northwood, NH Manufactured Home
A family's dog was the only casualty of a fire at a manufactured home in Northwood Saturday afternoon.
Firefighters from ten surrounding towns responded to the fire on Esther Lane in the Loon Estates Cooperative in Northwood that broke out around 1:45 p.m. The home was undergoing renovations and the only person living at the home was not there at the time of the fire, Northwood Fire Chief Mark Tetreault told Seacoast Current.
Tetreault said the siding on two nearby homes had already started to melt as firefighters arrived and power was temporarily cut.
"Upon arrival our first priority was to confine the fire to the home of origin," Tetreault said.
Video posted by News 603 showed the home was a complete loss with smoke streaming out of the eave of the home and flames on the roof.
Tetreault said the cause of the fire is under investigation and yet to be determined but it is not suspected to be intentional.
No firefighters or residents were injured in the fire.
The Red Cross of Northern New England responded to the fire to provide relief for the firefighters and the residents.
A representative of the Northwoods Brewery Company told Seacoast Current they will raise funds to assist the homeowner and will announce how to make a donation on their Facebook page on Monday morning.
