If you're heading out for some holiday travel this weekend, you might be wondering where to get the most inexpensive gas to fuel up for the trip.
Look no further. Here are the cheapest gas prices on the Seacoast for travel this holiday weekend.
As of Thursday, the cheapest gas in Portsmouth was at Penguin Fuel on the Route-1 bypass at $2.09 per gallon, per Gas Buddy. Three other stations in Portsmouth, Bypass Gas & More, Buzzy's Bypass Gas and Hanscom's Truck Stop were all at $2.15 per gallon.
In Dover, AL Prime Energy had their prices at $1.99 per gallon, according to GasBuddy. The Mobil location on Central Avenue was also at just $2.09 per gallon.
Prices were a bit more expensive across the border in Massachusetts, with the cheapest price in Newburyport being at the Shell on Storey Avenue, which was at $2.33 per gallon as of Thursday.
Over the Maine border in Kittery, the cheapest gas price was at the Irving location on Shapleigh Road at $2.05 per gallon.
Despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, many Americans still appear to be traveling for the holidays.
More than 5 million people passed through the nation’s airport security checkpoints between Friday and Tuesday, according to the Transportation Security Administration.
While that number is down 60% from this time last year, it still displays a great number of people going ahead with holiday travel despite warnings from the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention.
