Lewiston, Maine, Stays Strong but Vigilant as Manhunt Continues

The manhunt continues Friday for Robert Card, the gunman charged with the deaths of 18 people at a Lewiston bowling alley and pool hall.
Classes are cancelled again in several districts Friday including Auburn, Brunswick, Lewiston. Lisbon, Portland, and Scarborough. Stay-at-home orders remain in effect for Androscoggin and northern Sagadahoc counties,
Law enforcement focused their search Thursday evening on a home on Meadow Road in Bowdoin, where a SWAT team surrounded Card's former home and ordered whoever was inside to come out. Maine State Police spokeswoman Shannon Moss said investigators were not sure if he was inside, but were doing their "due diligence."
Unnamed law enforcement told ABC News a suicide note was found addressed to his son.
False Sightings
A vigil on Zoom hosted by the Episcopal Diocese of Maine Thursday night was interrupted by hackers who posted pictures of naked men, according to the Lewiston Sun Journal.
Portsmouth police said the Portsmouth Middle School was put on "secure campus" status Thursday afternoon after a male matching Card's description was spotted behind the Portsmouth Public Library.
Patrol officers were able to quickly determine the male was not Card.
