Look at the Cute Animal Rescue Photos Rye, NH Police Posted

Officials at the Rye Police Department in New Hampshire have posted some heart-melting animal rescue photos online this week.

On Monday, police posted this on their Facebook and Twitter account:

Within 24 hours, the same post on Facebook had over 245 reactions, 30 comments and 14 shares.

Then on Tuesday afternoon, this popped up on Facebook:

Within the first 25 minutes of the opossum photos being posted online, the Facebook page had 35 reactions and four comments, including one thanking the department.

Lt. Scott Blaisdell of the Rye Police Department said on Tuesday that they are trying to spread some positivity in the community and beyond.

"There is a lot of positivity in the world and we want to make sure we can spread that positivity," Blaisdell said.

Blaisdell said Off. Joshua McAllister is the one who took the photo of the hawk.

The opossum photos were submitted by Animal Control Officer Robert McGrath, Blaisdell said.

Blaisdell said they plan to continue making creative and uplifting social media posts to help members of the public feel better about the community they live in.
