A driver was injured in a road rage incident in Exeter Tuesday morning.

Exeter Police were called to the intersection of Portsmouth Avenue and Holland Way near Hannaford Supermarket around 7:45 a.m. and found a man with a head wound on Route 101 near the Guinea Way overpass. Several good samaritans pulled over to help the man with his injuries.

He was taken to Exeter Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect in the incident headed east on Route 101 but has not been taken into custody, according to Exeter Police.The individual has been identified, but there is no threat to the public.

Police did not disclose the circumstances of the assault or a description of the suspect.
