A Massachusetts man was killed when the van he was driving hit an overpass abutment on Interstate 95 Tuesday evening.

New Hampshire State Police said Eraldo Bezerra, 77, of Hudson, Massachusetts, was heading north when the 2012 Chevrolet Express van he was driving went off the right side of the highway around 8:10 p.m. It traveled about 200 feet in the grass and hit the Route 107 overpass in Seabrook. Bezerra was pronounced dead at the scene.

The reason Bezerra went off the road remains under investigation. Bezerra was the only person in the van, according to police.

Two right lanes of I-95 were closed for about two hours for cleanup and an initial investigation of the crash.
