A man who tried to break into a house wearing only his underwear led police on a high speed chase before driving into a lake on Sunday afternoon.

York County Sheriff William King said that an Acton homeowner saw the man via his Ring Doorbell app around 4:45 p.m. at his house on Langley Shores Drive in Acton, and called police. The man, identified as Logan Pratt, 20, of South Berwick, was gone by the time a sheriff's deputy arrived at the house.

The deputy spotted Pratt's vehicle on Buzzell Road in Acton and tried to stop him, but Pratt instead took off at a high rate of speed, according to King. Pratt drove his vehicle into Wilson Lake, freed himself, and swam to shore, where officers were waiting.

Pratt was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries and later charged with eluding an officer and other traffic-related charges.
