New COVID-19 Outbreaks at York, Marshwood High Schools
The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention announced new COVID-19 outbreaks at York High School and Marshwood High School in South Berwick on Friday.
The two new outbreaks are a small fraction of the 20 new outbreaks opened by the Maine CDC since Thursday, according to Director Dr. Nirav Shah.
As of Friday, York High had four cases while Marshwood had three.
York Superintendent Lou Goscinski wrote in a letter to students, parents, faculty and staff that the high school would close through at least December 2, although other schools in the district would remain open. Marshwood will join York in shifting to remote learning through December 2.
