Newton police are looking for a woman who allegedly stole only a particular brand of cigarettes from a family-owned market early Saturday morning.

The woman is caught on video throwing a cinder block through the front door of Rowes Corner Market on North Main Street (Route 108) in Newton around 2:45 a.m., according to police.

Police said the woman seemed "very familiar" with the store and was in and out in minutes after stealing cash and L+M 100s cigarettes, the only cigarettes which were taken.  She came and left the store on foot, according to police.

L+M 100s come in a distinctive red box.

The woman is described as being tall with long hair. She was wearing a royal blue light coat or sweatshirt, light pants, and black Nike or Adidas sneakers with a white sole. She was also wearing a face covering, police said.

"It’s a small town, let’s see what we can do! This hard-working family didn’t deserve this over some cigarettes and cash," police wrote on the department's Facebook page about the incident.

Police asked anyone with information about the incident to call them at 603-382-6774.
