Rep. Chris Pappas took to his personal Twitter account to announce his engagement on Sunday.

"We said yes! Vann and I are thrilled to share the news of our engagement and look forward to a lifetime of happiness and togetherness," the first Congressional District Democrat wrote in his tweet. A black and white of picture the smiling couple sitting on a coach accompanied the tweet.

Pappas did not disclose the last name of his fiance or the date of their wedding.

NH Journal reported that during a debate on Oct.22, 2020 Republican challenger Matt Mowers brought up Pappas' relationship with former Amazon corporate lobbyist Vann Bentley, a relationship which Pappas denied. The Pappas campaign told NH Journal Bentley left Amazon in Aug. 2019.

Pappas went so far as to tweet that Mowers was engaging in "gutter politics."

The next day Pappas' campaign admitted his relationship with Bentley, according to a WMUR report.

According to Bentley's Linkedin page he has been a policy manager for World Wide Web Foundation since Nov. 2020.

Pappas has announced he will run for re-election. Mowers is among six Republicans who have announced their candidacy for the seat.
