1PM UPDATE: George Blodgett was safely located and the Silver Alert canceled by NH State Police just before 1 p.m. No other details were disclosed.

A Silver Alert was issued Wednesday for a missing 81-year-old Exeter man with dementia.

George Blodgett left his house in a 2011 black Chevrolet Equinox with NH license plate 467-4562 on Tuesday afternoon, according to New Hampshire State Police. Blodgett called his wife around 5 p.m. and said he was driving to Beverly, Massachusetts for the evening. When he didn't return home, he was reported missing to Exeter Police at 9 p.m..

Beverly is an approximately 39 mile, 45-60 minute ride from Exeter depending on the route.

Blodgett was wearing a brown checkered shirt and tan pants. He is six feet and 230 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes.

Exeter Police asked anyone who sees Blodgett to call them at 603-772-1212.
