One man is dead in a police-involved shooting on Saturday afternoon in Derry.

New Hampshire Attorney General John M. Formella said his office is investigating the shooting, which involved a Derry Police officer on Driftwood Road near the area of Old Coach Road and 28 Bypass in Derry, in a residential neighborhood called Olde County Estates.

Derry Police went to the home after receiving a 911 call around 2:15 p.m. about an individual with a shotgun approaching the house. Three officers fired their weapons, striking Christopher Copplia, 43, a resident of another house on Driftwood Road.

No officers were injured during the incident.

Formella said that the circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation. The identity of the victim was not disclosed.
