Pickup Smashes Into Front of Hampton, New Hampshire, Restaurant
Four people were hospitalized and six displaced after a pickup truck crashed through the front of a Hampton restaurant Saturday night, one of three similar incidents on Saturday.
The white Chevrolet pickup that appears to have been heading south smashed into Greg's Bistro on the northbound side of Lafayette Road in downtown Hampton around 9:10 p.m., according to Hampton/Fire Rescue. The driver of the pickup, along with three people inside the restaurant, were taken to hospitals.
The driver of the pickup, Stephen Davis, 24, of Newburyport was arrested, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and reckless conduct. He was booked and then bailed on personal recognizance. He is scheduled to be arraigned at Rockingham County Superior Court on December 22.
Police did not disclose what caused Davis to lose control of his pickup truck.
Lafayette Road was closed between Winnacunnet Road and High Street for several hours after the crash.
Six residents of apartments above the restaurant were also displaced, pending an inspection of the building. They were assisted by Red Cross of Northern New England.

SUV Into Hampstead House
WMUR reported an SUV crashed into a house in Hamptead Saturday night.
Firefigher Justin McCarthy told WMUR the driver of SUV had just dropped someone off or was picking someone up. Instead of backing up, the driver went forward into a corner of the house at the garage.
The address of the house was not disclosed.
SUV Into a Newburyport Supermarket
A white SUV drove into the wall of the Shaw's supermarket on Storey Avenue in Newburyport on Saturday. The Newburyport Fire Department said the driver was not injured and the building sustained minor damage.
