The granite school sign, fence and a tree near the Rye Elementary School entrance were all hit by a vehicle, according to a Rye Police Department Facebook post.

Police said that a person came to the station to report the damage to the area at about 11:45 p.m. Sunday, March 14.

Officers went out to investigate the claim and found the obvious damage to the area.

In addition, the department noted that while no one was found near the area or has admitted to causing the damage, parts of the vehicle that was involved were left behind.
