Police: Portsmouth Man Arrested After Threatening Person With a Gun

Portsmouth police have charged a local man with multiple felonies after he allegedly threatened another adult with a firearm and fired two shots from inside a home.

Two children also were present when the gun was fired, Portsmouth police said in a news release. None of the victims were hurt.

Samuel So, 39, of Portsmouth was arrested after the alleged incident, which happened at about noon on April 13.

Authorities responded to the home following a report of one person being threatened by another with a gun. Detectives later learned two rounds were fired through a window during the episode, according to a news release.

Police didn't say what caused the dispute.

So has been charged with one count of felony criminal threatening, two counts of felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, two counts of misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child and one county of misdemeanor criminal mischief.

He will be prosecuted through Rockingham County’s Felonies First program, the release said.
