A Rochester man was killed when his car slammed into a tree on Sunday night.

Rochester Police said a 2005 Hyundai Elantra driven by Angel Medina Castro, 48, went off the road, flipped over, and came to rest against a tree in the area of Milton Rd and Spaulding Avenue around 9:40 p.m..

Drivers passing the crash scene near the Rochester/Milton town line stopped to apply CPR on Castro before first responders arrived, according to police. Castro was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only person in the vehicle.

Police said an investigation into the crash is ongoing, but speed and alcohol may have contributed to the crash.
