The Republican candidates in the First Congressional District primary took to their respective Twitter accounts to slam the speech.

"Americans must stand united, and our NATO alliance must stand strong against Putin's aggression," Sen. Maggie Hassan said in a statement.

"Glad President Biden is heeding my calls and others’ to impose sanctions," Sen. Jeanne Shaheen tweeted from Poland, where she is meeting with Polish officials and discussing Russia's aggression towards Ukraine.

Sen. Jeanne Shaheen was part of a Senate delegation that visited with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and other Ukrainian officials in January to reaffirm the U.S.’ commitment to Ukraine.

The funding is part of the new $1.2 trillion Biden Administration Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

Sen. Shaheen and the delegation met with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday and made clear the U.S. is united across party lines against Russian Presdent Vladmir Putin's plan to target the U.S.'s Eastern European partners.

The $1.75 trillion bill passed nearly along party lines Friday morning with Maine Rep. Jared Golden the only Democrat to vote against it.

Sen. Shaheen said the congressional delegation has spoken with the Biden Administration and has not yet heard any good options to making up the funds.
