No one was hurt when a vehicle hit the door of a Dover restaurant on Thursday night.

Dover Police Chief William Breault said the car had a mechanical issue as the driver tried to stop in the parking lot, and hit the door at a slow speed around 8:30 p.m.

The owners of the Hong Asian Noodle Bar on Central Avenue told Seacoast Current via Facebook messenger they had a "full house" when the door was struck, shattering all its glass.

"Good thing it hit slowly. It didn’t cause really bad damage," the owners said.

The driver told the restaurant's owner his brakes went out.

The chief said no charges were brought against the driver./

"I need to really say thank you to all my customers. They were awesome. Reacted quickly helping us to catch the images," the owner said.

The restaurant temporarily fixed the door with plastic and is open for business as usual.
