Woman Charged in Rochester, NH Hit-and-Run Crash
An arrest was made Wednesday in a hit and run crash in Rochester that left a father of four with severe injuries.
Rochester police arrested Joyce Howard, 69, of Rochester for allegedly striking Mat Lefebvre, 36 as he jogged on North Main St, in the area of Burger King just before 6 a.m. on Oct. 11. He was wearing a headlamp and rear strobe lights, according to police.
Howard was charged with conduct after an accident, a class B felony. She was bailed on personal recognizance and will be arraigned in Strafford County Superior Court at a date/time to be determined.
Police did not disclose how investigators were led to Howard. Rochester Crime Line was offering a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.
Mat Lefebvre continues his recovery from the crash which left him with nine broken ribs, a broken sternum, a severe break in his right shoulder blade, a shattered C6 vertebrae that will require surgery, trauma to his left lung and right kidney and received 25 staples in his head to close a very traumatic head injury.
The last update to his family's GoFundMe page on Oct. 16 said he was doing physical therapy and working at clearing his lungs which is painful.
